The Mohawk River is a 140 mile long river that runs through New York and is the largest tributary of the Hudson River.  The Mohawk River flows east through the Mohawk Valley before entering the Hudson River near Albany, NY.  The Mohawk River offers a wide variety of fishing opportunities for all anglers. The Mohawk River features good trout fishing in its upper reaches and opportunities for smallmouth bass, walleye, tiger musky, largemouth bass, white bass, pickerel, and northern pike in its lower reaches.  Smallmouth bass are the most sought after and most abundant game species and range between 14-16 inches in many places.  Walleye are also present in high numbers, most range between 15-18 inches but many larger fish are caught each year.
